About Me:
I became a PAC Trainer in 2014 and PAC Coach and Mentor in 2016. I am also a Hawaii Alzheimer's Disease Initiative Memory Care NavigatorDementia Friends Master Trainer & Champion, Rosslyn Carter Institute Dealing with Dementia TrainerI have more than 20 years of professional and personal experience in caring for people with dementia. My day job is as the Director of Community Engagement at Hale Ku’ike. We have three residential dementia care homes on the island of Oahu. I have worked at Hale Ku'ike since 2005.

I was born and raised on Oahu. After high school I left Hawaii and attended Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, for my BA and MA. I have a very personal connection to dementia care: my grandmother, with whom I grew up, had Alzheimer's disease; my father had stroke-related dementia; and my father-in-law had Parkinson's-related dementia.

On a personal note, I live on a small farm on the windward side of Oahu. I am crazy about chickens and have a small flock I keep for eggs. I love to cook during my days off and my current obsession is baking in bundt pans, both sweet cakes and savory breads!
